Andrew Skeene is an international businessman with proven skills and experience in various commercial endeavours. He has been in business since 1997 and in that time he has developed strong investment and analytical skills that have helped him succeed in every facet of the business world. He displays strong leadership skills and consistently obtains excellent results through his finely tuned abilities to co-ordinate and implement his own strategies with team development.
Current Employment
In 2008 Andrew Skeene took action on his strong beliefs in overseas investments and became a co-founder of Global Forestry Investments. It is his understanding that not only will foreign investment in forestry add diversity to an investment portfolio, but it can also add stability and strong growth factors. At the same time, it qualifies for special tax breaks and green benefits, since it is considered to be an ethical investment. As a co-founder, he sets the firm's strategic direction and helps to develop and implement new company strategies. He makes it his job to research and identify new areas of investment opportunities for the company as he develops new ways in which the company can grow. He is on the team that evaluates each new regional investment to determine if it suits the needs and goals of the company, including providing essential technical and analytical opinions and data. When preparing the financial analysis, he tracks current as well as expected future trends and models the prospective investments. His careful research and analysis is used to support domestic investment groups as well as foreign. He aids in supporting Global Forestry Investment's fund managers through cash management, fund lever operations and portfolio diversification. He also helped to establish and lead GFI, including brand development and awareness, which is an ongoing process and he has been the topic of feature articles in more than 20 publications and interviews in the media including the BBC and Sky News. He has been intricately involved in the Belem Sky Plantation project through its three phases of investment and development. His work experience includes partnering with a retailer who has companies based in Scandinavia and he is in close contact with a larger broker located in Spain. His responsibilities with this arm of the company include property development and arranging the finance packages necessary for property developers. He is involved in every step of the selling process from the valuation of possible sites to the negotiations to the sales and marketing literature. He also holds the position of Director at MÃOS SEGURAS, where he manages client relationships and oversees business development.
Previous Business Experience
Before co-founding GFI Consultants Ltd, Andrew Skeene was a director at a property company, where he worked three years in managing and motivating other workers as well as working with vendors, purchasers, property developers and mortgage brokers to complete the best deal possible for every side. In one instance, he took a company from initial set-up all the way through to the point of a £2m turnover.
